Writers of “Mad Men”
AMC’s hit series “Mad Men” has become one of the most critically acclaimed shows on television, winning three consecutive Golden Globes and back-to-back Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series. Now entering its fifth season, the provocative drama follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising during 1960s New York.
“Mad Men” writer-producers Janet Leahy and Lisa Albert joined National Writers Series founder Doug Stanton onstage at the City Opera House on February 3, 2011 for an exclusive discussion about the popular series. Audience members got a behind-the-scenes look at the show’s award-winning writing, following key memorable scenes from the writer’s room to the screen. Leahy and Albert also treated fans to insider anecdotes on some of TV’s most iconic shows, drawing on their decades of experience on hit series including The Cosby Show, Boston Legal, Roseanne, Murphy Brown, Gilmore Girls and Grace Under Fire.
