Sarah Brokaw
Sarah Brokaw, daughter of legendary news anchor Tom Brokaw, is an author, therapist, and philanthropist. Her book, “Fortytude” was published in early 2011, and since then, Brokaw has been featured on MSNBC, Today Show, ESPN, and numerous publications including Self magazine, etc.
Brokaw is a licensed therapist and professional certified coach with a practice in Beverly Hills,California. She holds a Master’s degree in social work from New York University. In her practice, and through discussion groups all across the country, Brokaw has discovered that the women who navigate midlife most smoothly – who go on to prosper and to enjoy the best years of their lives – are those who foster five core values in themselves.
Brokaw is actively involved with Women for Women International and has traveled to Rwanda and Bosnia where she has met the courageous women who were once socially excluded individuals but who have learned to become powerful members of the community due to their participation in the Women for Women International’s one year educational program and support from their sponsors at large.
In addition to volunteering in Rwanda and Bosnia, Sarah has volunteered for the Jenkins-Penn Haiti Relief Organization where she has counseled women in the womens’ clinic and photographed the Haitian people.
Brokaw took the National Writers Series stage in March 2011 with Megan Raphael, NWS Executive Director, for an inspiring and humorous evening, followed by a book signing and reception.
