Beth Milligan - Book and Author Publicist

Beth Milligan is a freelance journalist, writer, and arts and entertainment publicist. She is a frequent contributor to Traverse Magazine, MyNorth.com and numerous other publications throughout Michigan. As the youngest columnist to write for the Traverse City Record-Eagle, Beth start and wrote the paper’s popular “Twentysomething” column from 2005 to 2007. She has written the official blog for the Traverse City Film Festival, Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival and State Theatre, and often interviews visiting filmmakers and comedians for those websites and UpNorth TV. Before coming to the National Writers Series, Beth ran the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals program, which boasted a membership of close to 1,000. She currently also oversees publicity and media relations for Porterhouse Productions, which produces the Traverse City Winter and Summer Microbrew & Music Festivals, along with Paella in the Park. In 2008 and again in 2009, Beth was named one of the “40 Most Influential People Under Age 40″ in Traverse City by the Traverse City Business News.

Beth is a self-confessed “book junkie” and is passionate about the world of writing and writers. She frequently reviews both classic and new titles on her blog, bethmilligan.tumblr.com, and has interviewed almost every visiting NWS author for the NWS website and/or MyNorth.com. She is an enthusiastic champion of authors of all genres and their works, both in her personal life and in her professional life as the Book and Author Publicist for the National Writers Series.
